About

EL teachers are skilled. Too often, the system isn't built for them.

Clareval exists because the schools that serve multilingual learners best don't leave their success to chance.

I've spent years talking with EL teachers across the country — thousands of conversations about what's working, what's not, and what gets in the way. What I heard, over and over, was that the teachers weren't the problem. The infrastructure was.

EL teachers are skilled and hardworking. But when the right structures, materials, and support systems aren't in place, they can't work to their full potential. They are so often misunderstood, which makes it difficult to maximize their impact.

SIMS is the product of listening. It's a framework built to name what EL teachers already know — and to give schools the tools to build the environment where they can do their best work.
